New Castle County Police are actively investigating a shooting that occurred in the community of Wellington Woods.

(Newark, Del. – 19702) On Friday (September 30) at about 11:30 p.m., New Castle County Police patrol officers were dispatched to the area of Auckland Dr. in reference to a shots-fired complaint.  Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting in the 300 block of Auckland Dr.  Officers were advised that a 20-year-old male victim, suffering a gunshot wound to his back, had arrived at an area hospital and was transported there by personal vehicle.  The victim was treated and released.

Detectives responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation.
