Police Investigate Suspicious Person

New Castle County Police are investigating an incident where a man approached a group of children in the community of Bellefonte.

(Wilmington Del. – 19809) On Sunday (November 6) at about 6:00p.m., County Police were called to the 400 block of Brandywine Blvd in reference to a suspicious person.  Upon arrival, police conducted interviews and learned that a group of children between 8 and 11 years old were playing in the area of a vacant residence for sale on that block when they were approached by a man.  The man, described as a thin white male 60-70 years old, 5’8”-5’10” tall, 130-160 pounds, partially bald, wearing blue flannel, blue jeans, small round glasses and holding a cane, approached the children and acted suspiciously- causing the children alarm.  The man did not come in physical contact with any of the children.  The children fled the area and called police.

Police searched the area for the man but did not locate him.
