Teen Interrupts Burglary

The New Castle County Police are currently investigating a burglary interrupted by a teen responding home that occurred in the unit block of Rose Hill Drive in Bear.

(Bear, Del.-19701) On Thursday (11/17) afternoon at approximately 3:00 p.m., New Castle County Police received a 9-1-1 call from a 13-year-old who observed an unknown suspect inside his home.

Responding units arrived and checked the residence to ensure it was unoccupied.  Officers then learned the teen heard loud noises inside the home before entering.  After he unlocked the door, he observed the suspect on the second floor carrying an unknown object in his hand.

Police did find damage to a first floor window and learned jewelry and other miscellaneous items missing from the home.

Additional units responded, to include a K-9 officer which yielded negative results.

The suspect has been described as a Caucasian male, approximately 30-35 years of age, 6’00’tall, wearing a hat, sweatshirt and jeans.
