New Castle County Police are currently on scene investigating a shooting that occurred in the community of Collins Park.

(New Castle, Del. – 19720) Today at about 7:15 p.m., County Police responded to the area of Landers Lane and New Castle Ave in reference to a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 26-year-old male victim suffering an apparent gunshot wound.  The victim advised that the incident occurred in the area of Howell Dr at Daniel Ln.  He was able to flee the area and call police.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.  His medical status is not known at this time.

Detectives have responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation.
