Gold Alert Issued, Police Seek Missing Woman

The New Castle County Police are currently searching for Elizabeth Shastay, 34, from the 100 block of Shelley Drive in Claymont.

(Claymont, Del.-19703) Officers learned Elizabeth was last seen in the unit block of Burns Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday after speaking to her ex-husband.  He told police she was admitting herself into a mental health facility immediately after leaving his home.

Elizabeth then sent alarming text messages to her mother and called her fiancé making statements she was going to harm herself.

Officers responded to various locations including local hospitals and parks, but were unable to locate Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Shastay is described as a Caucasian female, 5’5’’ tall, weighing 140 lbs., with short brown hair and hazel eyes.  She was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a zipper, blue jeans and a green jacket.  Elizabeth drives a black Toyota Camry with Delaware registration 448629.
