New Castle County Police have arrested 29- year-old Gilbert King for burglary following an investigation in the community of Chelsea Estates.

(New Castle, Del.-19720) Yesterday(June 6) at about 11:00 a.m. New Castle County Police responded to the unit block of Paul Rd. for a report of a burglary in progress. Police learned that that the suspect, later identified as Gilbert King, entered the victim’s residence and shed then fled in a vehicle.

Police located Gilbert King’s vehicle in the area of the Wawa on Rt. 141. A search warrant was obtained for the suspects vehicle . During the search of the vehicle, police located evidence implicating him in the burglary.

Through the investigation, detectives  discovered that Gilbert King was also responsible for a theft that occurred on Saturday, (June 3) in the 2600 block of Bardell Dr. Wilmington, Del.

Gilbert King was charged with  third-degree burglary, two counts of misdemeanor theft, and criminal trespass. Gilbert King was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional facility after failing to post a $2,000.00 secured bail.
