New Castle County Police are currently investigating a home invasion in the community of Sparrow Run.

(Newark, Del. – 19702)  Earlier today at about 5:56 p.m., New Castle County Police Patrol  officers were called to the unit  block of Teal Circle for a home invasion that had just occurred.  Upon arrival, officers located a 20-year-old male victim who stated that a subject came in to his residence and struck him in the head with a handgun.  One shot was then fired and the suspect fled.  The victim later declined medical treatment.

No items were reported stolen.

New Castle County Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrived on scene and assumed the investigation.
