(Newark,19702) On Tuesday (November 28) New Castle County Police investigated the discovery of an injured adult male who was located in the area of Freedom Road and 76th Street in the neighborhood of Valley Wood.
New Castle County Police Detectives positively identified the injured male as 31-year-old Anthony Phippin of the 3300 block of Stone Place Blvd in Bear.
Anthony Phippin succumbed to injuries on November 28th. Investigators now believe it was the result of a hit and run collision.
Surveillance video shows the victim walking on Freedom Rd. toward Bear Christiana Rd. between 0525 and 0530 hours. A vehicle traveling in the same direction strikes Phippin from behind and leaves the scene toward Bear Christiana Rd.
Detectives from the New Castle County Police Traffic Services Unit have now assumed the investigation.
