(Newark, DE 19713) During the months of July and August (2018) detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police, Safe Streets Task Force spearheaded an investigation into reports of a male selling large quantities of marijuana throughout New Castle County.
Yesterday, the detectives, with assistance from Newport Police Department were able to stop 25-year-old Tristan Proffitt who was driving a 2016 Acura MDX. During the vehicle stop, a substantial amount of marijuana and a large amount of cash were located inside of the vehicle.
The detectives’ investigation led to residences in the unit block of Gates Circle in the community of White Briar and the unit block of Greenfield Rd in the community of Rutherford. At these residences, detectives seized additional illegal drugs and cash.
As a result of this investigation, detectives seized 365.7 grams of marijuana, 117.5 grams of hashish, 3.6 pounds of marijuana edibles, $15,163.00 in cash, and Tristan Proffitt’s 2016 Acura MDX.
Tristan Proffitt was taken to New Castle County Division of Police Headquarters and charged with: 1 count felony Manufactures, delivers or Possesses with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, 1 count felony Possession a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 quantity, 1 count felony Tampering with Evidence, 1 count violation Failure to Stop at a Red Light and 1 count violation Failure to Stop at a Stop sign.
Tristan Proffitt was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $5000 secured bail.
