POLICE ARREST MULTIPLE SUSPECTS FOR VEHICLE BREAK-INS.

(Newark, 19702) Early Sunday morning, (Jan 6) at approximately 5:00 am, patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of Lisa Drive for a theft from motor vehicle complaint.  When the officers’ arrived, they found numerous cars had been entered and ransacked.  Video surveillance in the neighborhood captured a white U-Haul van driving through the area.

Officers patrolling the area observed the van travelling on Pulaski Highway (Rt. 40). The officers stopped the van and found that there were three adults and seven juveniles inside.  The van was also laden with a large amount of stolen property.  The property was identified as being stolen from numerous vehicles in the area.

Arrested were: 27-year-old, Antoine Freeman of New Castle.  He was charged with 3 counts of felony Burglary 3rd, 1 count of felony Conspiracy 2nd, 3 counts of misdemeanor Theft, and one count of Possession of Marijuana.  He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $6200 secured bail.

26-year-old, Michelle Vance of Wilmington was also charged with 3 counts of felony Burglary 3rd, 1 count of felony Conspiracy 2nd, 3 counts of misdemeanor Theft, and one count of Possession of Marijuana.  She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $800 unsecured bail.

24-year-old Blair Butcher of Wilmington was also charged with 3 counts of felony Burglary 3rd, 1 count of felony Conspiracy 2nd, 3 counts of misdemeanor Theft, and one count of Possession of Marijuana.  He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $800 unsecured bail.

The seven juveniles were also charged.

The investigation is still ongoing and at the time of this press release, the subjects were found to be responsible for 6 additional Burglaries.  Bringing the total to at least 15 incidents.
