Yesterday, (January 18, 2019) officers from the New Castle Division of Police were dispatched to the community of Wellington Woods for a report of a shooting.

When the officers arrived they found a 16-year-old victim and transported him to a local area hospital.  There, the victim was treated for two gunshot wounds to his lower extremities.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and have assumed the investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
