(New Castle, DE 19720) During the last weeks of July (2019), detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit Property Squad were able to link multiple burglaries that had occurred in the areas of Wilmington and Newark.
These burglaries involved sheds, garages and on some occasions even maintenance sheds. Lawn equipment and tools were reported stolen during each of the incidents.
The detectives located a witness who reported seeing a white pick-up leaving the area after one of the burglaries. Additional evidence was also discovered from other sources. The subsequent investigation revealed that 31-year-old, Brian Paraskiewicz was, in fact, the suspect.
On Friday (Aug 2), Brian Paraskiewicz was taken into custody by detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Special Investigations Squad. Just before he was apprehended, Paraskiewicz was seen leaving a residence on the 1100 block of Flint Hill Road, in the community of Arundel.
Detectives authored a search warrant for that residence and were able to locate multiple items that had been stolen from area burglaries.
Paraskiewicz was charged with: two counts of felony Burglary 2nd degree, six counts of felony Burglary 3rd degree, four counts of felony Theft, six counts of misdemeanor Theft, and three counts of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief.
He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $53,500 cash bail.
