POLICE APPREHEND BURGLARY SUSPECT IN KIAMENSI GARDENS

(Wilmington, De 19804) Yesterday, (Oct 22) officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Stanton Road in the community of Kiamensi Gardens for a burglary in progress.

The homeowner was checking the surveillance cameras and observed a white male with a beard kick in the side door and enter the residence.

As the officers were en route to the residence, Cpl Steve Donahue and his dog Echo spotted a subject matching the description of the person in the video.  CPL Donahue drove up to him and after a brief struggle, they were able to take him into custody.

Detectives from the New Castle County Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and assumed the investigation.  The detectives were able to identify the subject as 35-year-old Jason Geiser.  After an extensive investigation, Geiser was found to be responsible for a total of 4 burglaries- two on Stanton Road, one on Kiamensi Road and one on Fenwick Ave.

Geiser was transported back to New Castle County Headquarters and charged with one count of misdemeanor Resisting Arrest, four counts of felony Burglary 2nd, two counts of felony Theft, one count of felony attempted Theft of a Firearm, one count of felony Selling Stolen Property, four counts of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief, two counts of misdemeanor Theft and one count of attempted misdemeanor theft.

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $5000 secured bail.
