New Castle County Police Officers along with volunteers from Lights on Delaware installed over 60 front porch lights in the community of Edgemoor Gardens.
(Wilmington DE, 19809) During the week of September 21st, Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police; along with volunteers from Lights on Delaware and the Help Initiative responded to the community of Edgemoor Gardens to install front porch lights, backdoor lights, and motion sensors.
During the week, officers have made personal connections with the youth of the community and have strengthened their bond with the residents of the Edgemoor community. The program provides residents with new energy efficient LED light bulbs to place in the front and rear of their residence and solar power motion sensor lights. There is no cost associated with this program and it is offered to all homes in the community, including rentals. In the coming days Delmarva Power in partnership with New Castle County will further enhance the community by upgrading the overhead streetlights.
Colonel Bond added “The goal is to improve the quality of life in this community and it’s our responsibility to leverage all resources to make it happen.”
