New Castle County Police arrest 22-year-old Tayvon Willis for drug and firearm charges. 

(NewCastle, 19720) Earlier this morning (March 20th) at approximately 05:25 A.M., officers from the New Castle County Police were conducting proactive property checks of the Garfield Police Athletic League in the community of Overview Gardens. The officers observed a Gold Ford Edge parked in the parking lot. Upon seeing the officers, the vehicle quickly left the parking lot. The officers followed the vehicle onto the area of Donhaven Ave and Chase Ave where a traffic violation was observed.

The officers conducted a vehicle stop and contacted Tayvon Willis of the vehicle. During the interaction, officers observed Marijuana in plain view. During a search of the car, officers located a fully loaded Taurus G2C 9 mm caliber handgun, as well as 41.52 grams of marijuana packaged for sale, a digital scale and odor concealing vials.

Tayvon Willis was charged with 1 Felony count of Possession With Intent to Deliver, 1 Felony count of Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, 1 count of Possession of a Firearm by a person prohibited, a Failure to Signal 300 feet Prior.

Tayvon Willis was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and released from custody with $8,100.00 unsecured bail.
