(Bear, DE 19701) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 37-year-old Daniel Long in reference to multiple thefts and stolen vehicles. During the month of June, Patrol Officers responded to multiple vehicle thefts and thefts in Sherwood Park, Meridian Crossing, Lums Pond Estates, and Dunlinden Acres.

Following a multi-week investigation, Detectives identified the suspect as 37-year-old Daniel Long of Bear. Daniel was taken into custody on Thursday, August 10, 2023, without incident. Six pending cases were cleared and Daniel was charged with:

Three felony counts of burglary in the third degree

Two felony counts of theft of a motor vehicle

One felony count of attempted theft of a motor vehicle

Three misdemeanor counts of theft under $1,500

Six misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief

He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Howard R Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $16,500 secured bail.
