CAR-STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARREST AND STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERY

(Newark, 19702) The New Castle County Division of Police has arrested 26-year-old Frankie Lopez of Wilmington and 20-year-old Tatiyana Toler of Wilmington on multiple felony charges following a car stop.

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Officers from the Mobile Enforcement Team were on proactive patrol around 1100 Pulaski Highway when the Officers observed an Acura SUV, which was wanted by the Pennsylvania State Police, regarding a vehicle pursuit parked in front of a business. Officers observed Frankie Lopez and Tatiyana Toler getting into the car when Officers immediately conducted a car stop and were taken into custody without incident.

Officers determined the license plate was fictitious and the car was stolen from Wilmington in March 2024. Officers then searched the car, which yielded 1.5 kilos (1,564 grams) of cocaine and 3.35 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Frankie Lopez was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters where he was charged with the following crimes:

Frankie Lopez was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $65,500.00, cash bail.

Tatiyana Toler was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters where he was charged with the following crimes:

Tatiyana Toler was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution after failing to pay $35,000.00, cash bail.
