Detectives Link Suspects Arrested in Nighttime Occupied Burglary to Multiple Theft Cases

(New Castle, DE. 19720) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 20-year-old Andrew Lloyd and a 17-year-old male, both of Wilmington, following an investigation into an occupied nighttime burglary.

On Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 10:59 a.m., Officers responded to a residence on Candy Court in the Beaver Brook Crest community regarding a burglary. The Victim reported that a suspect had entered their home overnight and stolen property. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit were notified and took over the investigation. Through their investigative measures, Detectives identified the suspects as Andrew Lloyd and a 17-year-old juvenile. Additionally, Detectives connected these suspects to several other cases involving multiple theft victims within New Castle County’s jurisdiction.

On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Detectives, with the assistance of the New Castle County SWAT Team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Homestead Road in Wilmington, at which time both suspects were taken into custody.

Andrew Lloyd was transported to the New Castle County Police Headquarters where he was charged with the following:

Andrew Lloyd was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $33,100.00 cash bail.

The 17-year-old male was transported to the New Castle County Police Headquarters where he was charged with the following:

The 17-year-old male was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center after failing to pay $35,000.00 cash bail.
