(New Castle, De. 19720) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Safe Streets Task Force and Mobile Enforcement Team have charged 24-year-old Damion Thomas of New Castle following an investigation into drug dealing. The investigation, launched in June 2024, targeted drug distribution in New Castle County and identified Damion Thomas as the suspect through investigative methods.
On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, Damion Thomas was located, and a search warrant was approved and executed at his residence in the 100 block of Louise Road in New Castle. The investigation resulted in the seizure of 212 grams of crack cocaine, 1.03 grams of heroin (148 baggies), 926 grams of marijuana, a .22 caliber revolver with ammunition, and over $2,700 in suspected drug proceeds.
Damion Thomas was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with the following crimes:
- Two felony counts of manufacture/deliver/possession of a controlled substance Tier 3.
- Two felony counts of manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
- Two felony counts possess controlled substance tier 1.
- One felony count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
- One felony count of possession, purchase, own, or control of a firearm/destructive weapon If previously convicted.
- One felony count of possession, purchase, own, or control of a firearm/ammunition If previously convicted
- One felony count of semi-auto/auto weapon prohibited and controlled substance.
- One misdemeanor count of drug paraphernalia.
Damion Thomas was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $96,075.00 cash bail.
