On Friday, November 29, 2024, at 9:10. am., New Castle County Police officers responded to a shooting in the 400 block of Bethune Drive in Dunleith. Upon arrival, officers found two victims. A 46-year-old woman, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was located in the yard and was transported to Christiana Hospital in stable condition. Also in the yard, officers discovered 30-year-old Ciarre Hall, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and determined that Ciarre Hall had confronted his 46-year-old mother over personal matters, during which he shot her multiple times before turning the weapon on himself. The Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed that Hall died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and his death was ruled a suicide.
