MET OFFICERS ARREST DRUG DEALER FOLLOWING FATAL OVERDOSE

(Wilmington, DE 19804) Officers with the Mobile Enforcement Team began an investigation of a suspected heroin/fentanyl-related overdose death, which led to the arrest of 66-year-old Barbara Dennis of Wilmington.

On Friday, February 14, 2025, officers with the Mobile Enforcement Team responded to an overdose-related death in the unit block of Champlain Avenue in Wilmington.  Through their investigation, they discovered the victim purchased heroin/fentanyl from Barbara. 

The MET team conducted a search warrant of her residence and located 5468 bags of heroin/fentanyl (164.04 grams), a digital scale, 40 alprazolam pills, and 200 oxycodone pills. Barbara was transported to the New Castle County Police Headquarters where she was charged with:

Barbara was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in lieu of $682,000 cash bail.
