TRAFFIC STOP UNCOVERS GHOST GUN AND DRUGS IN WILTON

(New Castle, DE 19720) On Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 9:18 p.m., Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police’s Mobile Enforcement Team were performing proactive patrols in the Wilton community when they initiated a traffic stop on a black Nissan Altima at Highland Blvd and Wilton Blvd. The vehicle was driven by 20-year-old Draden Nyabiosi of Newark.

During the stop, a probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered psilocybin mushrooms, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded handgun. Further investigation revealed that the firearm was equipped with a 40-round magazine and an auto-sear, effectively converting it into a fully automatic weapon. Additionally, the handgun had no manufacturer marking or serial number, categorizing it as a “Ghost Gun.”

Draden Nyabiosi was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with the following crimes:

Draden Nyabiosi was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $28,500.00 cash bail.
