(Newark, DE 19702) On Sunday, March 30, 2025, at approximately 6:15 p.m., an officer traveling eastbound on Christiana Road in the area of Thomas Garrett Drive when a silver Kia Optima crossed the grass median, striking the front of the marked patrol vehicle. The officer was transported to a local area hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. The driver, along with three juveniles from the Kia were all transported to local area hospitals for treatment where they are in critical but stable condition.
The New Castle County Division of Police Traffic Services Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
