MOBILE ENFORCEMENT TEAM MAKES GUN AND DRUG ARREST AFTER SUSPECT CRASHES INTO TWO CARS ON PULASKI HIGHWAY

(Bear, DE 19701) On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, around 2:00 p.m., officers from the Mobile Enforcement Team were patrolling the Wellington Woods community when they spotted a silver Infiniti G37 with a Pennsylvania temporary tag — the same vehicle that had previously fled from police on March 31 in the Old Baltimore Pike area.

As the car approached the neighborhood entrance, it passed a patrol unit. The officer recognized the driver as 25-year-old Michael Rogers. When the officer attempted a traffic stop with lights and sirens, Rogers drove recklessly toward Pulaski Highway. For public safety, the officer chose to disengage.

Moments later, Rogers crashed into a vehicle while speeding along the shoulder of Pulaski Highway. He continued for a short distance, striking a second vehicle before stopping near Pulaski Highway and Porter Road, where he fled from the car. MET officers quickly arrived and took him into custody without further incident.

The New Castle County Police Traffic Services Unit and the Evidence Detection Unit responded to the scene and assumed the crash investigation.

A search of the vehicle uncovered:

Michael was transported to a local area hospital and treated and released. The operator of the first vehicle Michael struck was transported to a local area hospital and treated and released.

Michael was then transported to the New Castle County Police Headquarters, where he was charged with the following:

Michael was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Howard R Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $59,361.00 cash bail.
