DETECTIVES SEIZE GUNS AND DRUGS IN SEPARATE TRAFFIC STOPS

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Active Crime Trends Team conducted proactive patrols across the county, resulting in two notable seizures involving firearms and drugs.

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Detectives conducted a traffic stop on a gray Infiniti Q50 in the Brookside Park area of Newark for a violation on Old Newark Road. During a probable cause search, the driver, 23-year-old Ryan Harris of New Castle, was found in possession of a loaded ghost gun with a 40-round high-capacity magazine and 1,034 grams of marijuana.

Ryan Harris was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with the following crimes:

Ryan Harris was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $122,502.00 cash bail.

The next day, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at approximately 12:18 p.m., Detectives conducted a traffic stop on a gray Acura TL after observing a violation near Philadelphia Pike and Harvey Street in Claymont. The driver was identified as 23-year-old Jaden Singletary of Claymont, with 23-year-old Jagen Watson as the passenger. A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded 9mm handgun, approximately 84 grams of marijuana, 1.27 grams of crack cocaine, and $591 in suspected drug proceeds.

Jaden Singletary was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with the following crimes:

Jaden Singletary was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $14,600.00 cash bail.

Jagen Watson was charged with the following crimes:

Jagen Watson was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed on $28,800.00 cash bail.
