NEW CASTLE COUNTY DIVISION OF POLICE ANNOUNCES THE GRADUATION OF 3 K9 TEAMS

(New Castle, DE 19720) The New Castle County Division of Police is proud to announce the graduation of K9 Ramza, K9 Indy, and K9 Hammer from our Police K9 Training Program! 🐾🚔

These dedicated K9’s — along with their equally committed handlers — have completed months of intensive training in tracking, detection, and patrol work. They’re now officially ready to serve and protect our community with courage, loyalty, and heart.

K9 Ramza – a one-year-old Dutch Shepherd from Croatia, is trained in patrol operations and explosives detection. He will be partnered with Ofc. Nichol.

K9 Indy – a one-year-old Belgian Malinois from Czech Slovakia, is trained in patrol operations and narcotics detection. She will be partnered with Ofc. Currinder.

K9 Hammer – a one-year-old German Shepherd–Malinois cross from Holland, is trained in patrol operations and narcotics detection. He will be partnered with M/Cpl. D. Williams.

PATROL OFFICERS AND ROOKIE K9 MAKE BURGLARY APPREHENSION IN NEWARK

(Newark, DE 19702) Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 33-year-old Dakeir Hall of Wilmington following a burglary investigation. On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, just after 9:00 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the community of Sparrow Run – Newark in reference to a burglary. It was reported that an unknown suspect forced entry into a home on Egret Court and was possibly still inside. Officers responded and established a perimeter. K9 Indy along with her handler were also on scene to provide support. Officers gave verbal commands while K9 Indy provided audible barks which caused the suspect to exit the home and surrender. The suspect who was identified as Dakeir Hall was taken into custody without further incident. He was transported to NCCPD headquarters and charged with one felony count of burglary in the second degree and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $2,600 unsecured bail.
