(Wilmington, DE 19809) Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 22-year-old Devonte Garnett of Wilmington following a robbery investigation. On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 9:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Eastview Lane in Paladin Club – Wilmington in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. Through the investigation, police learned that the victim was approached by an unknown male who was grabbing his waistband and wearing a black ski mask. The suspect then ordered the victim to empty his pockets and began to punch and strike him multiple times. The suspect then fled into a nearby apartment in the community.
A K9 team and multiple officers responded to the area and set up a perimeter. Officers ultimately located a suspect matching the description at a nearby apartment on Eastview Lane. While officers were contacting the suspect he attempted to jump from a balcony and began to run at which time he was taken into custody by assisting officers. The suspect was identified as Devonte Garnett (22) of Wilmington. He was transported to NCCPD headquarters and charged with one felony count of attempted robbery in the first degree, one felony count of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and one misdemeanor count of assault in the third degree. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $57,000 cash bail.
