WILMINGTON MAN CHARGED IN MASSIVE 135,000-PILL SEIZURE

(Wilmington, DE. 19805) Detectives from the New Castle County Police Drug and Human Trafficking Investigations Team, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations and the United States Postal Inspection Service, have arrested 45-year-old Maury Moody of Wilmington on multiple felony drug and weapons charges.

The investigation was launched in July 2025 after authorities uncovered evidence of large-scale narcotics trafficking throughout New Castle County and across the United States via the U.S. mail. Detectives determined that Moody was purchasing large quantities of prescription pills from overseas, having them shipped directly to him, and then reselling the medications.

On Monday, November 17, 2025, detectives executed a search warrant at Maury Moody‘s residence in the 1900 block of Seneca Road, in the Canby Park Estates neighborhood. During the search of his bedroom, investigators seized approximately 135,646 pills, including:

Detectives also recovered a loaded .25-caliber handgun with a spent casing in the chamber and $3,600 in suspected drug proceeds hidden inside the home.

Maury Moody was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with the following crimes:
