DETECTIVES ARREST TWO AFTER TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG SEIZURE

(New Castle, DE 19720) – On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at approximately 2:55 p.m., Detectives assigned to the Active Crime Trends Team were conducting proactive patrols in the Wilton Boulevard corridor when they initiated a traffic stop for a violation involving a white Nissan Altima on Ridley Court.

During the stop, detectives identified the occupants as the driver, Marcus Crawford, 37, and the passenger, Keenan Black, 25, both of New Castle. Detectives determined that Crawford was operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

Detectives subsequently established probable cause and conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, detectives recovered 98 bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl, approximately 14 grams of crack cocaine, and approximately 139 grams of marijuana. Detectives also recovered suspected drug paraphernalia and proceeds believed to be associated with illegal narcotics activity.

Both individuals were taken into custody and transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters, where they were charged as follows:

Marcus Crawford was charged with:

Crawford was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $19,102 secured bail.

Keenan Black was charged with:

Black was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released after posting $5,100 secured bail.
