(Wilmington, DE. 19804) On Saturday, May 2, 2026, at approximately 8:19 p.m., officers with the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the unit block of Hillside Road. Upon arrival, officers spoke with several victims who reported being confronted by 37-year-old David Voyton during a neighborhood dispute.
Officers determined that during the incident, Voyton shouted insults at the victims and, after being told to leave the property, brandished a pocketknife and punctured the tire of one of the victims’ vehicles. As the dispute continued, Voyton made additional threats of harm while continuing to wave the knife around.
Officers later responded to Voyton’s residence, where he resisted arrest but was ultimately taken into custody. A knife was recovered from his pocket following his arrest.
David Voyton was transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters and charged with the following offenses:
- Three felony counts of Aggravated Menacing
- One felony count of Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
- Three misdemeanor counts of Terroristic Threatening
- Three misdemeanor counts of Harassment
- One misdemeanor count of Resisting Arrest
- One misdemeanor count of Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
- One violation of Criminal Trespass Third Degree
David Voyton was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $28,200 secured bail.
