(Newark, DE 19702) On January 6, 2026, Officers responded to the 800 block of Cobble Creek Curve in the Stones Throw Townhouses community for a reported incident. Prior to Officers’ arrival, 53-year-old Robert Waddell fled the residence.
While on scene, Officers observed ammunition inside the residence and were aware that Waddell was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition due to a prior felony conviction. Officers also made contact with 47-year-old Shannon Wedding and 41-year-old Ashley Kwah, who were both determined to be prohibited persons due to prior felony convictions and were immediately taken into custody.
Officers later obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence. During the search, Officers recovered 35 bags of suspected fentanyl, approximately 56 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia located in multiple areas throughout the residence, along with the previously observed ammunition.
Following the incident, Shannon Wedding and Ashley Kwah were transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters and charged as follows:
Shannon Wedding
- One felony count of possession of a firearm/ammunition by a person prohibited
- One misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia
Wedding was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released after posting $1,000 unsecured bail.
Ashley Kwah
- One felony count of possession of a firearm/ammunition by a person prohibited
- One felony count of possession of a controlled substance, Tier 3 quantity
- One felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, Tier 3 quantity
- One felony count of possession of a controlled substance, Tier 1 quantity
- One felony count of conspiracy in the second degree
- Two misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia
- One misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance
- One misdemeanor count of resisting arrest
Kwah was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution after failing to post $67,000 secured bail
On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Robert Waddell was located, transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters, and charged with:
- One felony count of possession of a controlled substance, Tier 3 quantity
- One felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, Tier 3 quantity
- One felony count of possession of a controlled substance, Tier 1 quantity
- One felony count of conspiracy in the second degree
- One misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance
- One misdemeanor count of offensive touching
- One misdemeanor count of terroristic threatening
Waddell was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $132,500 cash bail.
