(Wilmington, DE 19804) On Sunday, June 7, 2026, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Officers responded to the 600 block of Boxwood Road in the Woodcrest community for a burglary that had just occurred.
The investigation revealed that the victim had just finished riding an electric bicycle (E-Bike) and placed it inside an open garage at their residence. A short time later, the victim returned to the garage and discovered the E-Bike was missing. The victim also noticed a pair of sandals in the driveway that did not belong to anyone in the household.
As Detectives from the Division’s Criminal Investigations Unit investigated the incident, they reviewed surveillance footage that showed an unknown suspect entering the garage shortly after the victim placed the E-Bike inside. The suspect then removed the E-Bike and fled the area. In the process, the suspect left behind a pair of sandals at the scene.
On June 11, 2026, the New Castle County Division of Police requested the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Thanks to information provided by community members, Detectives identified the suspect as 21-year-old Jared Laub of Wilmington.
On June 16, 2026, Jared Laub turned himself in at New Castle County Police Headquarters, where he was charged with the following offenses:
• One felony count of Burglary First Degree
• One misdemeanor count of Theft Under $1,500
Laub was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 02 and released on $3,000 unsecured bail.
