OFFICERS ARREST TWO SUSPECTS, INCLUDING A JUVENILE WITH A STOLEN HANDGUN

(Newark, DE 19702)- On Thursday, August 16, 2024, at 2:00 a.m., Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to a call regarding a group of individuals attempting to open unlocked car doors in the 1000 block of Sandburg Place. As Officers arrived, they spotted several suspects sprinting away from the scene. Officers quickly gave chase and managed to apprehend two individuals: 18-year-old Ahmed Moustafa and a 15-year-old male who was in possession of a stolen handgun.

The 15-year-old male was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with the following crimes:

  • One felony count of possession of a deadly weapon by a person under 18.
  • One felony count of possession of ammunition by a person under 18.
  • One felony count of carrying a concealed deadly weapon a firearm.
  • One felony count of receiving a stolen firearm.
  • One misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
  • One misdemeanor count of criminal trespass second-degree.

The 15-year-old was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on a $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

Ahmed Moustafa was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with the following crimes:

  • One misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.

GUN ARRESTS IN ARBOR POINT TOWNHOUSES

(New Castle, 19720) Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police Mobile Enforcement Team have arrested a 14-year-old male and 32-year-old Rosalie Jones from the 100 block of Parma Avenue in Arbor Point Townhouses on multiple firearm-related charges. The investigation, initiated in August 2024, stemmed from reports of the 14-year-old in possession of a firearm. On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, members of the Mobile Enforcement Team and SWAT executed search warrants at a residence in Arbor Point Townhouses, which resulted in the discovery of several handguns, including one reported stolen from Dover, DE, and another with an obliterated serial number.

The 14-year-old male was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with the following crimes:

  • Two felony counts of possession of a deadly weapon by a person under 18.
  • One felony count of possession of ammunition by a person under 18.
  • One felony count of receiving a stolen firearm.

The 14-year-old was arraigned by New Castle Family Court and committed after failing to pay $33,000.00 cash bail.

Rosalie Jones was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with the following crimes:

  • One felony count of possession of a weapon with an obliterated or altered serial number
  • One felony count of receiving a stolen firearm.

Rosalie Jones was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $6,000.00 unsecured bail.
