Police Issue Gold Alert for Missing Newark Man

New Castle County Police are currently searching for Raymond B. Roberts missing from his home in the community of Taylortowne.

(Newark, Del. – 19702) Today (Jan 29) at about 10:45 a.m., County Police were dispatched to the unit block of Defoe Cir for a missing person report.  Upon arrival, police contacted the reporting person who advised that Raymond B. Roberts fled the residence after making statements and taking actions that cause a concern for his welfare.

Police searched the area for Raymond B. Roberts,  but were unable to locate him.

Raymond B. Roberts is described as a white male, 5’9” tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair, a full beard and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, black basketball shorts and green-and-grey sneakers.

Raymond B. Roberts is operating a red 1999 Chevrolet S10 bearing DE registration C62331.

Detectives Investigate Crash Involving Police Vehicle

New Castle County Police are investigating a crash involving a New Castle County Police vehicle that occurred in the area of West Newport Pike at Tolliver Drive.

(Wilmington, Del. – 19804) This evening (Jan. 27) at about 7:00p.m., County Police responded to the area of West Newport Pike and Tolliver Dr for a crash with injuries involving a County Police cruiser, driven by an on-duty police officer, and a sedan.  Upon arrival, police and emergency medical personnel provided first aid to the occupants of the sedan- a 33-year-old female driver and four children ages 12,10,5 and 2-years-old, as well as the involved officer.

All involved parties were transported to an area hospital.  All involved parties sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

County Police Traffic Services detectives responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation.

This is an ongoing investigation; further details will be released as they become available.
