New Castle Man Wounded by Gunfire in Pine Valley Apartments

The New Castle County Police are currently investigating the shooting of a 40-year-old man that occurred in Pine Valley Apartments.

New Castle, Del.-19720 On Thursday (April 28) evening, New Castle County Police were called to the 500 block of S. DuPont Highway in reference to a man shot.

Officers arrived to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper extremity.  The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was sitting on the front steps of an apartment building when he was approached by two unknown suspects.  The victim reported the suspects then fired multiple shots striking the victim.

He was transported to the Christiana Medical Center for his injuries.

COUNTY POLICE INVESTIGATE OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING, PHILADELPHIA PIKE-UPDATE

The New Castle County Police continue to investigate an officer involved shooting that occurred in the area of Philadelphia Pike and Washington Street Extension.

Through interviews and ballistic evidence recovered in the area of St. Helena’s Church, County Police detectives have determined that Keith Price not only pointed a handgun at the pursuing officer, but also fired one bullet at the officer.  The actions of Price prompted the officer to return fire, subsequently striking and killing Price.  The officer was not struck by gunfire during the incident.

The New Castle County Police Professional Standards Unit and the Delaware Department of Justice Office of Civil rights and Public Trust continue to investigate this incident.

Home Damaged by Gunfire in Buena Vista

The New Castle County Police are currently investigating a shooting that damaged a home and a car in the community of Buena Vista.

On Monday (April 25) at approximately 9:55 p.m., New Castle County Police responded to the unit block of Liborio Lane in reference to a shots fired complaint.  Officers arrived to find the front of the home damaged with projectiles.  Upon further investigation, officers noted the projectiles traveled through windows on the first and second floors and came to a rest in the dining room and a second floor bedroom.  A car parked in front of a home nearby was also damaged by the gunfire.

The occupants of the home were uninjured.
