This morning (July 12), Colonel Vaughn Bond, Jr. promoted Captain Robert McLucas to the rank of Major, and Lieutenant Diane Smith to the rank of Captain.

Major McLucas joined the County Police in 1990 and has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Professional Standards Unit, Special Operations, Criminal Investigation Unit and Professional Development Unit.

Captain Smith joined the County Police in 1998 and has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Unit, Professional Standards Unit, Chief’s Executive Officer, Patrol Executive Officer and is an instructor with the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police Command and Leadership Academy.

A formal promotional ceremony will be announced in the future.
