Update: As of 12:35 a.m. the road is now open

(Newark, DE 19713) Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police are currently on the scene of a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the 100 block of Stature Drive. Residents can expect the roadway to be closed between Stature Court and Fox Drive and avoid the area if possible.

(New Castle, DE 19720) On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at approximately 3:58 p.m., officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the area of Wilton Boulevard and Stonebridge Boulevard for a report of a shooting that had just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased despite life-saving efforts.

Detectives from the Division’s Criminal Investigations Unit and Evidence Detection Unit have responded to the scene to assume the investigation. This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and further information will be released as it becomes available.
