New Castle County Police remind New Castle County Park visitors to park legally and park smart when enjoying the parklands.
Stemming from an increased call volume for illegally parked vehicles in County Parks, County Police will be enforcing parking violations in all County Parks. The initiative is aimed at making the parks accessible and safe for all while ensuring open thoroughfares for visitors and emergency vehicles.
“We’ve had a lot of people enjoying our parklands during this unseasonably nice weather,” said Lieutenant Colonel Vaughn Bond Jr, Interim Chief of Police. “We want to make sure there’s room for visitors’ vehicles, as well as emergency vehicles, to move freely on the roadways.”
Please park only in clearly designated parking spaces or parking areas. Parking in any other area could result in a citation being issued.
Please also remember to Park Smart by locking your vehicle, securing your valuables, taking the keys with you and calling 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity.
