New Castle County Police are currently searching for 25-year-old Sami Cherkaoui missing from his home in the community of Frenchtown Woods.

Newark, Del.- 19702) Today (June 14) at about 11:00 a.m., County Police were dispatched to the unit block of Avignon Dr for a missing person.  Upon arrival, police learned that Sami Cherkaoui had fled the residence on foot after making statements which cause a concern for his welfare.

Police searched the area for Sami Cherkaoui, but were unable to locate him.

Sami Cherkaoui is described as a black male, 6’00” tall, 285 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing a Yankees baseball cap, blue Nike t-shirt, gray Reebok shorts and gray Nike sneakers. He is carrying a “Marshall’s” bag.
