Police Arrest Theft Suspect, Seek More Victims

New Castle County Police have arrested 43-year-old Daniel Holmes for felony theft in the community of Westover Hills and believe there may be more victims.

(Wilmington, Del. – 19807) During the month of November, 2016, County Police investigated a felony theft in the unit block of Westover Rd where approximately $10,000 worth of jewelry was stolen.  Police continued the investigation and were able to obtain arrest warrants for Daniel Holmes.  Officers learned Daniel Holmes was working as a technician installing home theater equipment at the time of the theft.  Police have located evidence which leads them to believe that Daniel Holmes may have stolen from other, as of this time unreported, victims.  He has been installing home theater systems for about 15 years.

Police are urging anyone who may have had Daniel Holmes in their residence to carefully account for valuables. If anything is found to be missing or if you have information pertaining to this investigation, please contact New Castle County Police by calling 302-573-2800 and make a report.

Daniel Holmes, of the unit block of Lansdown Ct in Elkton, MD, was arrested on July 8 and charged with felony theft and selling stolen property.  He was arraigned and released on $3,000 unsecured bail.
