Months-long Burglary Investigations Culminate in Charges

New Castle County Police have concluded five burglary investigations, which began in January, by charging four.

Between January 20th and January 21st, 2017, County Police responded to five residential burglaries in the Greenville Area.  The burglaries occurred in the first block of Summit Lane in Stoney Run, the 100 block of Lands End Rd in Sedgley Farms, the 100 block of Owls News Rd in Greenville, the 100 block Greenspring Rd in Greenville and the 200 block of Alisons Way in Centerville Tract II.

In all five incidents, the residents were away or sleeping when the exterior electric meter was removed, thereby disconnecting the power.  The suspects entered the homes and stole electronics as well as high-end jewelry.

Throughout the seven-month investigation, detectives identified Windney Valentin, 29, Lesly Valentin, 31, Jarrett Bruce, 33, and Vaughn Powell, 39, as suspects.  Detectives further found that these suspects were part of an organized burglary ring dubbed “The James Bond Gang,” which operates in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Delaware.

As of Monday (July 24), Windney Valentin, Lesly Valentin, Jarrett Bruce and Vaughn Powell, all of the Asbury Park, NJ, area, have all been arrested out of state and are awaiting extradition to Delaware to be formally charged for the burglaries and related offenses.

Police are asking anyone with further information on this investigation to please contact Detective Josh Smith at JKSmith@nccde.org.
