(New Castle-19720)  Today ( October 6), the New Castle County Police were notified of an off-duty domestic incident involving a 5 year veteran of the department.  A criminal investigation was conducted and after consultation with the Attorney General’s Office, the officer has been charged with Assault 3rd degree (misdemeanor). Per policy, the officer has been placed on administrative leave with pay as an internal investigation is conducted. The officer was arraigned and released on $1000 unsecured bail pending a future court appearance.
