Safe Streets Task Force Detectives Make Heroin Arrest.

New Castle County Police Safe Streets Detectives have arrested 56-year-old Rodney Sampson for selling Heroin in the community of Wellington Woods.

(Newark, Del.-19702) On Tuesday(September 26) the Safe Streets Task Force detectives stopped a tan Infiniti for a traffic violation. During the stop, detectives observed heroin capsules in plain view. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, detectives located 39 capsules of Heroin and 39 Morphine pills.

Rodney Sampson was taken into custody without incident.

During the course of the investigation, detectives developed probable cause for a search warrant for Rodney Sampson’s residence which is located in the unit block of Laxford Dr.  On Tuesday(October 10), detectives administered the search warrant and located an additional 52 capsules of heroin and $3,565.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

Rodney Sampson was charged with felony possession of heroin in a tier 2 quantity while operating a vehicle, felony possession of morphine in a tier 2 quantity while operating a vehicle, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, failure to signal while operating a vehicle, possession with intent to deliver heroin in a tier 2 quantity, possession of heroin in a tier 3 quantity, and 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned and committed to Howard Young after failing to pay $22,000.00 cash bail.
