Vehicle Stop Leads to Money and Drugs Seized From Probationer

New Castle County Police have arrested 45 year-old Hiram Ilarraza-Huerta for drug offenses in the community of Chelsea Estates.

(New Castle, Del. 19720) Yesterday (January 24) members of the Mobil Enforcement Team conducted a vehicle stop on a Grey Nissan for a traffic violation at the intersection of Louise Rd and Mark Dr. and made contact with the driver, Hiram Ilarraza-Huerta.  Officers detected the evidence of illegal drugs in the vehicle. A Search of the Nissan was conducted and officers located trace amounts of crack cocaine.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives from New Castle County Police Safe Streets unit were able to conduct an administrative search of Hiram Ilarraza-Huerta’s residence which is located in the 200 block of Christiana Rd. Detectives located 7.9 grams of raw heroin and $12,075.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

Hiram Ilarraza-Huerta was charged with felony possession with intent to deliver heroin in a tier 4 quantity, felony possession of heroin in a tier 5 quantity, misdemeanor possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license, and failure to signal. Hiram Ilarraza-Huerta was arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $120,752.00 cash bail.

DETECTIVES FROM NCCPD AND DSP MAKE COORDINATED BURGLARY ARREST OF 18-YEAR-OLD WILMINGTON MAN.

On Sunday (January 21) New Castle County Police patrol officers were dispatched to the unit block of Westminster Dr, in the community of Holiday Hills,  for a report of a suspicious person rummaging through vehicles.

Upon arriving at the scene,  the officers observed a person matching the description standing next to a Chevy Camaro.  The subject was identified as 18-year-old Calvin Shelton.  An investigation ensued and Calvin Shelton was taken into custody and subsequently arrested for one count of felony Theft of a Motor Vehicle, which was recovered close by, one count of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief and one count of misdemeanor Theft.

As the investigation progressed, detectives from the New Castle County Police, Criminal Investigations Unit, and detectives from the Delaware State Police, Criminal Investigations Unit were notified and assumed the investigation.  During the course of this investigation, search warrants were authored for Calvin Shelton’s Tenth Street residence and his girlfriend’s residence in the unit block of Lido Lane.  There, detectives were able to recover stolen property from multiple residential burglaries along with burglaries to a local church.

Calvin Shelton was arraigned on the following charges:  the aforementioned, one count of felony Theft of a Motor Vehicle, one count of felony Theft and Victim is Over 62 years of Age, two counts  of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief, two counts of misdemeanor Theft, two counts of felony Burglary 3rd, one count of felony Burglary 2nd, one count of misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana and multiple traffic violations.

Calvin Shelton was held in lieu of $13,250 cash-only bail.

DETECTIVES ARREST WILMINGTON MAN FOR MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES.

Detectives from the New Castle County Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrested 33-year-old Everette Curry for multiple burglaries in Wellington Woods, Albertson Park, and Schoolside Apartments.

In December of 2017, patrol officers were dispatched to Schoolside Apartments for a burglary investigation.  During the course of the investigation detectives from the New Castle County, Criminal Investigations Unit were able to establish 33-year-old Everette Curry as a suspect.  Detectives then obtained a search warrant for Everette Curry’s residence.  This resulted in the location of additional evidence further implicating Everette Curry in other reported burglaries.

On Monday (January 22), Everette Curry was taken into custody by the New Castle County Police Special Investigations Squad and charged with:  four counts of Felony Burglary 2nd , three counts of Felony Theft of a Firearm , two counts Felony Theft $1500 or greater, one count Felony  Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, two counts of Misdemeanor Criminal Mischief, one count of Misdemeanor Theft, and one count of Felony Unlawful Use of a Credit Card.

Everette Curry was arraigned and held in lieu of $54,200 secured bail.
