NEW CASTLE COUNTY POLICE FACEBOOK FOLLOWERS HELP POLICE APPREHEND BURGLARY SUSPECT.

(Wilmington, Del. 19808) On June 6, patrol officers from the New Castle County Police responded to a home in the unit block of Mitchell Drive for a burglary report which occurred during the daytime.

On June 12, members of the New Castle County Police Strategic Communications Team posted photos of the suspect vehicle to the New Castle County Police Facebook page along with this caption:

“Detectives from the New Castle County Police Criminal Investigations Unit were able to locate surveillance video of a suspect driving in the area. The Criminal Investigations Unit is seeking the public’s help in identifying the owner of this vehicle. The vehicle looks like a silver or white 2002-2005 Saturn Vue with distinctive damage to the front passenger fender. The subject driving should be a white male.”

On Thursday (June 14), with help from the followers of the New Castle County Facebook Page and Twitter, the detectives were able to locate the vehicle and apprehend the driver, 37-year-old Mitchell Hubis.

Mitchell Hubis was charged with felony, Burglary 2nd, felony Theft $1500 or greater and the Victim is 62 years old or Older, and misdemeanor Selling Stolen Property.

Mitchell Hubis was then arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is currently being held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $14,000 secured bail.
