(New Castle 19720) Today (June 29) at 10:05 a.m. New Castle County Police Patrol Units were dispatched to the unit block of Wedgefield Drive, in the community of Eagle Glen, for reports of a car that had crashed into a house.
When the officers arrived they saw that a red, Nissan Frontier had crashed through a garage of one house and into a fence of a second residence. The driver of the vehicle,63-year-old, Michael Salizzoni was found unconscious inside of the Nissan Frontier. The officers and emergency medical personnel administered first aid and then transported him to a local hospital.
The officers then learned from witnesses that three light poles had been struck as well as a parked car.
Michael Salizzoni was then released from the hospital and taken to New Caste County Police Headquarters. There he was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, misdemeanor Possession of Heroin, felony Criminal Mischief, 5 counts of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Remain In Lane.
Michael Salizzoni was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $851 secured bail.
