NEW CASTLE COUNTY DIVISION OF POLICE CAR STOP YIELDS DRUGS AND MONEY

(Newark, DE 19702) Tuesday, (November 13) members of the New Castle County Division of Police Mobile Enforcement Team observed a tan GMC Jimmy being operated on Summer Park Crescent towards Sunny Bend. The officers were able to stop the vehicle for a registration violation.

As they approached the vehicle, the driver 27-year-old Kyle Barrett ran from the vehicle and began fighting with the officers. After a brief struggle, the officers were able to place Kyle Barrett into custody.

A search of the vehicle resulted in a seizure of 1.169 grams (167 bags) of Heroin, .4 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, a small amount of Marijuana and $996.00.

Kyle Barrett was charged with one count of felony Possession with Intent to Deliver, one count of felony possession of a Controlled Substance, one count of misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, one count of misdemeanor Resisting Arrest, one count of misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance, one count of misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, one count of misdemeanor Failure to Have Required Insurance, Driving with a fictitious or cancelled registration, Unsafe Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Have Registration Card in Possession.

Kyle Barrett was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $11,104.00 secured bail.
