(Newark, DE 19702)   Today, (Dec 17) at approximately 4:30 p.m. officers from the New Castle Divison of Police Patrol Division were dispatched to the unit block of Winterhaven Drive in the community of Autumn Park Apartments for a reported shooting.

When the officers arrived they found a 17-year-old victim and had him transported to a local area hospital.  There he was treated for a single gunshot wound to a lower extremity.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and have assumed the investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
