(Wilmington, DE 19808) Last Tuesday night, (Christmas), around 11:30 p.m. Patrol Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Whitehall Circle in reference to an in-progress burglary. When the officers arrived at the scene they observed a rear window on the porch of the residence to be open.
During a check of the area, officers located a subject walking in the median on southbound Rt. 7 (Limestone Rd.), in the area of Manette Dr. The subject was wearing a tan coat with a black hoodie underneath, black knit hat, dark pants, and a black backpack.
The subject was stopped and identified as 25-year-old, Paul Lally IV. An investigation ensued by the patrol officers uncovered sufficient evidence to make an arrest.
Paul Lally was taken to New Castle County Public Safety Building and arrested for one count of felony Burglary, one count felony Attempted Theft where the victim is older than 62, one count of felony Possession of Burglar Tools, one count of Misdemeanor Attempted Theft, and two counts of Loitering (Night Prowling).
He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $4,100 secured bail.
