NEW CASTLE DIVISION OF POLICE CAR-STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARREST AND STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERY

(Newark, DE 19713) Saturday, (December 29th) members of the New Castle County Division of Police Mobile Enforcement Team established surveillance in the area of Salem Church Road, near the community of Triwoods.

A silver Toyota Camry was stopped after a traffic violation was witnessed by the officers. The driver 18-year-old Thomas Brittingham was found to be in possession of 12.5 grams of marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia and $595.00.

Further investigation revealed the registration plate was stolen from Landenberg and the vehicle was reported stolen out of New Castle County.

During the vehicle stop, the passenger 20-year-old Forrest Sinex began fighting with the officers. After a brief struggle, the officers were able to place Forrest Sinex into custody.

Thomas Brittingham was charged with one count of felony Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, one count of felony Theft of a Motor Vehicle, one count of misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Marijuana Related, and Failure to Drive in Proper Lane/Direction.

Thomas Brittingham was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $5200.00 unsecured bond.

Forrest Sinex was charged with one count of felony Resisting Arrest.

Forrest Sinex was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and given $2000.00 unsecured bond, however, he was committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution pending a violation of probation.
